ShareDrop is a clone of AirDrop service of Apple, with the help of ShareDrop you can transfer files between devices. As of now on ShareDrop can share files between devices over local area network. The general difference between Apple’s AirDrop and ShareDrop is currently ShareDrop use internet to determine the public IPs of devices whereas AirDrop create ad-hoc wireless network between devices.
ShareDrop is an open source application it comes with MIT license which allows you to do pretty much customization, it source code is hosted on Github repository for fork and download purpose.
